Pros and cons of Oportun: Savings made easy app for iPhone and iPad

Oportun: Savings made easy app good for

I love this app. I dont write reviews at all. But downloading this app has been the best decision I have ever made. Its really hard for me to save up money but Digit does it for you and you dont even notice it! By the time I check the app I have more than $100 saved up. I will continue to use this app and share it with my friends and family. Its amazing!
I love this app! Saves money when im not even trying to save ❤️
This is the first review I have ever written for an Apple App. Digit is not for budgeting, it just saves your money for you. Every day or so it will take anywhere from $1-$20 out of your bank account and put it into a Digit savings account that you can easily withdraw from whenever you want. In a month I have saved $200 without even noticing. The app also sends a text message every day showing your bank account balance, recent transactions, and sends funny texts of encouragement about your savings. Because of Digit I instantly found out someone stole my debit card! If you have a hard time saving money, or just need an extra savings account, you have to try Digit. *****I would love it if there was a way to set up a goal.. Like "I want to save $800 by August 10th."*****
Ive been using this for over a month now and it literally saves me money without even realizing it!
What are you waiting for?! Hands down the best app Ive ever downloaded. If you have a checking account youre able to save money: it does everything for you. As a recent college graduate I didnt know how I would be able to build my savings account with student loans, apartment bills etc. Digit does everything for you!! Cannot recommend this enough. Its a must-have for me!
I like the app. I have over $100 saved that I can withdraw due to an unexpected expense. My husband, who isnt really great with money, hates it because he says it overdrafted his account. I always pause digit if I feel like money is tight and dont want them to take any money out for awhile. Or if I want to make sure I keep a certain amount on hand I transfer what I need to my savings or the joint account I share with the hubby. Everything is pretty simple and well explained IMO.

Some bad moments

I got this to try to save some additional money. At first it was good. $2 here $4 there not that big a deal. It is based on what you spend. So say one week you dont spend a lot because you are waiting for payday or have an upcoming expense. The app then takes that into account and saves more. It took $60 out of my account over 3 days. Which defeats the purpose of me not spending money that week. You can set up how much it takes out, but then what is the point of the app if you have to micro manage it. Im sure for a lot of people it is helpful. So dont hesitate to give it a try. Just didnt work out for me.
This app has cost me $84 in overdraft fees caused by three 0.13 withdrawals. The site claims that they will reimburse any fees that are incurred, using their service. This is not been the case for me I contacted customer service twice and have yet heard a response Ive closed my account. Buyer beware
I only get to the confirmation code when signing up and I still not getting them code.
After several tries I have yet to receive my confirmation code!
So I read the reviews and was really excited about this app. Until I downloaded it and discovered it doesnt work with my bank. I just figured you would put in the routing number and account number and youd be good but no! So for me this app is pointless.
I downloaded the app after reading all the great reviews & it wont go past the screen with it linking to my bank. It just says finishing up and goes for hours until I get a blank white screen. Has this happened to anyone else? I have also tried it on my Mac & same thing minus the white screen. Am I doing something wrong.
